But keeping up our REP is done in game and in community forums like KZ.com
I dont see anyone just hanging around then we turn away from them blindly only to figure out later on down the track ''oh we should recruit this guy''
If they are a fit for the clan they will be asked or they will ask to join early on in the time we first meet them.

jezza that is just too absolute!!
what if someone beccomes amazingly good, gets a headset or a ps3 and they are now a perfect fit for us?
what you will say "no, sorry you weren't right before so you still can't join"?
pogo is a good case. he's deserved the chance to join IF he wanted to and we voted on it in my eyes.
btw, not many of us are very active on the kz.com (that might change) so keeping our "REP" up atm is basically you.

Okay then. He wouldn't want to stay away for too long though.
Pogo is a contentious issue.

Yeah well no reply probably means it's too much of an issue.

well we shouldve realised the potential earlier.
Plus TBH i dont see someone being average at FPS then all of a sudden being awsome.
It take mulltiple game lives to improve alot on FPS games.

what about the other things i mentioned?
headset?
ps3?
more time available?
left a previous clan?
You still stand by your statement that if someone isn't good enough initially then they should never be allowed to join?
I can't see why they shouldn't! IF they are worthy of course.

I didnt say they would never be allowed to join if declined once.
But i just dont see someone with there .80 KDR coming to the clan asking to join then we say sorry your not good enough, then for them to come back half a year later with their 1.3 KDR then we let them join.
Even if that happens it doesnt matter if they stick around posting in the general chat does it?
they probley wouldve joined another clan by then anyway.
JUST LIKE POGO DID!

He wasn't harming anyone, so it didn't matter.
It's possible that they could improve that far. If they're committed and start showing improvement, then they should be able to be considered.
No offence - but Pogo wasn't the greatest player when we first played with him. But with practice he became one of the better players in the EU.

Yeah but thats KZL.
its nothing compared to FPS games..
and also it took him nearly the whole life cycle of the game to get good.
We need a good group to start with basically.

I wouldn't say the whole life cycle. It didn't take him that long to get good.
Plus he plays mainly FPS games now, and does pretty good so I constantly hear.

Yes you did say that and there is NO reason why a person shouldn't be allowed to join if they show improvement and are a good fit with our ideals.
posting and being social doesn't hurt.
if they join another clan then that's fine but if they later are free then they should be considered at least. not flat out denied.
we can't afford to be so exclusive that we miss out on potential members.
we're gonna need a lot of active people to make this take off.
we are starting from the bottom here! once we have established ourselves we can afford to be more picky.

Well if pogo plays fps on 360 and ps3, like halo and Cod he is at least going to be as good as me as I haven't played a shooter solidly on a console in a long time. And as we practice he will too and get better, anyone who is average and practice lots can
become very good. He has a ps3, a mic, is getting the game and is very committed
to KLZ. Also seeing as KLZ2 has such big clans we can't be as choosy with who we let join as we did in KLz:L

He is probably better at shooters than me!
But I plan to work at it like he did with KZL.
even if it does take me the whole life cycle to do it.
and if that's not what TE wants then i'm not sure I'm meant to be here.
You're setting your sights high, which is what well all want, but we also have to be realistic. Little fish in big pond. Learn to crawl before running etc...

but who says we cant asses him for KZ2?
But anyway back to the original arguement...
We dont need them to really hang around the site after we have evaluated them and considered them not good for the clan. But if they return then we can easily re evaluate them if they feel ready.
and to what shadow said before.
''Yeah, its nice that they contribute. But the site is primarily for the clan, and our dealings. So we shouldn't really stress about systems for a niche group.''

I'm starting to think that if we have to assess pogo's skills in KZ2, we'd almost have to assess every current member and starting kicking out people not up to scratch straight away. /sarcasm
It's a new game, you've got to give people a chance to get good. Pogo ticks all boxes for me.

Yeah that's my point.
You keep going on about hard work that's why I said someone should be able to get another chance if they improve.
Glad you've changed your mind.
Now would be a good time to say that I would vote 'Yes' to Pogo joining TE in ALL areas. Not just KZ2. (who knows if he's even keen lol but we need members like him)
