well we dont need them. we did fine with this forum.
but we want something that's gonna stand out from all the other generic forums.
They're the first thing a person sees when they look you up and I usually initially judge a clan by their site (even tho you aren't meant to).
If we can get it working then why not? Most of that stuff you can get working with the current forum.

can you add a sort of update-able timeline feature that shows important past events??
like members joined, founding, big wars won/lost etc

So i'm wondering, if we do stars based on rank, then do we just use differet titles or something? maybe have stars as a rank, but have either forum and clan rank titles.
i guess what i mean is, those that are forum members but not clan members could have a different title for their star rank.
i dont mean have two sets of stars, but,you get what i mean?
i.e:
for clan members:(goes up stars by place in clan)
- 4 star = Clan Veteran (current members)
- 3 Star = Clan Member (people we recruit after the new forum)
- 2 star = Clan Recruit (people in trial/rectruitment stage, or clan newbies)
and for forum only members: (probably go up stars by post count)
- 4 star = Foum Veteran
- 3 Star = Forum Contributer
- 2 star = Forum Member
all 5 stars would be mods/admins or whatever, and all 1 stars would be "newbies" or whatever title.
so as an example a person might joing the clan as a 1 star "newbie", and make posts until they are a 2 star "forum member". they then go through a recruitment stage, and become a clan member, and would get the 3 star "Clan member" regardless of posts.
this has flaws however.
maybe have all one stars "Newbies", all two stars "Members" then begin to differentiate between clan and forum titles at 3 stars?
I guess this all comes down to how the star thingo works.
Shadz, is it a system based on post count? or will it be mods/admin assigning stars/ rank only. or a combo of both?

another long post, but im just giving ideas. mainly that we could have titles/stars for clan and forum ppl separate.
that is if people want to change it.
im fairly happy with how it is now.

Yeah.
Maybe just go with a simple star/title system that isnt on post count? like the mods/admin get 5 stars, vets get 4, clan members get 3, the forum contributors get 2, and recruits/newbies get 1? seems fair, cept it leaves pogo a bit behind if he only stays on as a member of the forum, with just 2 stars.

You can have certain stars (star colours as well) for a particular post benchmark.
Ie. 1000 posts - 4 stars.
